POSITION SUMMARY Pay range: $25.62/hr - $36.12/hr The HR Specialist will provide support for the HR team related to a variety of program coordination and administrative duties including, but not limited to: customer service, vendor management, employee training on assigned program(s), issue resolution with vendors, data input and processing of information into the HRIS system, event coordination, ordering supplies, bill processing, and general reporting as needed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Performed majority of the time: Typically assigned to work on one or more of the following focus areas, but not limited to: * Updates HRIS and Payroll systems with bi-weekly changes including but not limited to: job promotions and transfers, changes in employee status, and processes all electronic personal action forms. * Audits invoices and coordinates monthly payments with HR's various vendors. * Audits and reviews data provided from outsourced vendor, investigates concerns or questions, utilizes resources including policies and plan documentation to help recommend answers and solutions. * Under the direction of Total Rewards would be responsible for processing benefits billings and employee payments; supporting benefits events and programs; orienting and educating employees on our offerings when appropriate; assisting with benefits entry into HRIS for new hires and providing administrative help during high volume times of the year, such as open enrollment. * Reviews and processes monthly queries for various departments, Union reports, BOLI, new hire reporting, etc. * Coordinates with other HR staff on policy management. * Provides general support for badging requests and filing, as needed. Performed occasionally but critical to successful performance of the job: * Assists with maintenance of the HR page on the Intranet site. * Works with the HR team on special projects. Decision making and budget responsibilities: * Decision impact limited to the employee. * No budget responsibility. JOB SPECIFICATIONS JOB SPECIFICATIONS Education: Required * N/A Preferred * Bachelor's degree. Experience: Required * Minimum two (2) years of experience in Human Resources or related field. Preferred * N/A Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: Required * N/A Preferred * Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification. Job Related Skills, Abilities and Behaviors: Required * Demonstrates excellent customer service and organizational skills. * Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. * Problem solves without direct supervision. * Demonstrates data entry skills. * Demonstrates ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines under pressure with many interruptions. * Demonstrates ability to work effectively across cultures and other differences. * Uses effective communication skills in written or verbal interactions. * Creates a good first and lasting impression through personal appearance and phone interactions. * Demonstrates ability to prepare and analyze statistical reports. * Demonstrates ability to utilize the HRIS' functionality to perform necessary tasks related to data entry/processing of information for employee changes.
