Position Purpose We are seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join our nature center team. This role plays a key part in the nature center's communications effort to connect with our community, create a sense of belonging, and use community insights to drive programming strategy Position Purpose To assist Nature Center Director & Assistant Director in promoting programs & events, creating community engagement materials, and assisting with event planning to ensure successful operation of Majestic View Nature Center services Please Note: This is a variable-hour, non-benefited position. Scheduled to work 10 hours/week Essential Functions / Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Essential Job Functions: * Assist with the development of content for weekly internal newsletter, monthly volunteer newsletters, and bimonthly to the broader community * Create engaging and shareable content for the website, newsletters, press releases, ads, and social media * Create and design promotional materials such as flyers, invitations, postcards, etc. for * marketing and public relation campaigns * Monitor and report on community KPIs, such as web traffic, attendance and social media data * Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of community events and engagement campaigns * Create and design campaign materials such as flyers, invitations, postcards, etc. Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Strong writing and editing skills * Knowledge of graphic design principles * Knowledge of social media trends and best practices * Understanding of naturalist interpretation standards * Must demonstrate strong organizational, time management, and project management skills; must be able to meet deadlines Qualifications - Working Environment / Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum of 1-year experience working in environmental community-building, communications, or marketing PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in related field * Nonprofit or municipal experience preferred Vision Mission Values The City is an Equal Employment Opportunity.
