TOGETHER, WE SAVE LIVES OVERVIEW As our Director, Logistics, you will lead the Armor Materials Team and processes at the Jacksonville, FL site to ensure that all requirements are available and delivered on time to internal customers. RESPONSIBILITIES * Directs, plans, administers, and oversees programs for purchasing, central supply, warehousing, production planning and control, inventory control, and to expedite flow of materials * Develop a process to gather demand inputs from various sources and convert into an operations plan that meets the needs of our customers * Work with finance, auditors and operations to create an inventory management process for materials that leads to high accuracy * Design and implement a visual management process for buying, planning and inventory management that leads to meeting KPI's through continuous improvement * Build a high performing team that is engaged by ensuring clear communication, associate recognition, goal alignment, process excellence and teamwork * Ensure that material requirements are available on time to meet production schedules * Develop playbooks that will keep planning for finished goods demand up to date on a weekly basis * Ensure Customer Service obtains information proactively when customer deliveries are not going to be met * Create processes, playbooks and visual indicators to ensure our most important raw materials (our 80's) are given focus resulting in minimal material shortages * Works with top management to assure achievement of corporate goals. * Oversees preparation and control of department's annual budget. * Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work problems. * Will supervise three (3) or more associates QUALIFICATIONS * Five (5) to seven (7) years working in a manufacturing environment with multiple products * Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics or a closely related field * APICS Certification or similar strong systems and inventory control skills a plus * Must be proficient in purchasing methods and procedures, techniques of specification and contract writing * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Solid analytical skills * Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with multiple levels of management. * Strong leadership skills * Experienced with lean manufacturing principle * Knowledge of purchasing laws required * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors * Knowledge and experience in executing vendor certification programs * Knowledge/experience ISO 9000 The Safariland Group believes in the benefits of a diverse workforce and is committed to equal opportunity and affirmative actions.
