The Legal Intern for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for collaborating with expert attorneys to handle a diverse array of matters including contracting, intellectual property, and other legal initiatives. This position is part of the Legal Department located in Brea, California and will be fully remote. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time. You will be a part of the Legal team and report to the Legal Counsel responsible for partnership strategy, contract negotiation, IP portfolio management, litigation support, and providing strategic legal advice to product development initiatives. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: * Conduct legal research on laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to the diagnostics industry. * Assist in contract management, organization, drafting and review. * Assist with patent and trademark portfolio management. * Create records and internal tools to manage company assets and technology. * Assist with any other legal matters or projects handled by the US Legal team. The essential requirements of the job include: * 1L - 2L * Proficiency in use of computers, MS Office Suite * Experience with legal research and writing It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: * Contracts, trademarks, patents, technology, or data privacy laws issues * Attention to detail, creative thinking, comfortable in a collaborative environment * Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills At Beckman Coulter Diagnostics we believe in designing a better, more sustainable workforce. The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $25/hr. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
