THE JOB: As an On-Call Naturalist for Mandalay Bay Shark Reef Aquarium, you'll have the opportunity to inspire and educate visitors about the fascinating world of marine life. By delivering top-notch guest experiences, you play a crucial role in elevating the overall guest experience. THE STARTING PAY: $16 THE SCHEDULE: On-Call Operational Hours: Daily 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM https://mandalaybay.mgmresorts.com/en/entertainment/shark-reef-aquarium.html THE DAY-TO-DAY: * Engages the public at various assigned locations throughout the aquarium, educating about the various species, habitats * Promotes Shark Reef's conservation mission, goals, and objectives, and creates a positive guest experience * Maintains both public and animal safety by monitoring visitor behavior, correcting where necessary, advising supervisor and/or animal care of abnormal situations * Supports temporary or permanent secondary attractions through interpretation or maintaining guest experience based on exhibit-specific needs * Supports Shark Reef Educators with field trips, classroom sessions, educational outreach, and special event days assisting with large groups of visitors of all ages * Performs other job-related duties as requested MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: * Must be a minimum of 18 years of age * Proof of eligibility to work in the United States * Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: * Biology, Environmental Science, or Education background * 6+ months of prior relevant experience working in education, zoo, aquarium, or museum setting * Public speaking or education experience * Experience working in a similar zoo, aquarium, museum, setting * Ability to use voice amplification equipment to communicate with guest * Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced, team-oriented environment * Possess the ability to adapt in a constantly changing environment with large groups of people, new animals, exhibits or situations. * Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts THE PERKS & BENEFITS: * Future growth potential within the company * Wellness incentive programs to help you stay healthy physically and mentally * Access to company hotel, food and beverage, retail, and entertainment discounts as well as discounts with company partners on things like travel, electronics, online shopping, and more * Free meals in our employee dining room * Free parking on and off shift * Healthcare, financial, and time off benefits * Professional and personal development through programs and networking opportunities as well as volunteer opportunities in the community Are you ready to JOIN THE SHOW?
