About the Position The City of San Bernardino is accepting applications to fill multiple vacancies in the Pool Manager series in the Aquatics Division of the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department. The Pool Manager I/II is a working supervisory position . Pool Managers assist the Aquatics Supervisor in scheduling and programming swimming pool facilities, supervise swimming activities and staff, and instruct classes in fundamentals of swimming. Pay Ranges: * Pool Manager I - $20.91 - $25.41/Hour * Pool Manager II - $23.33 - $28.36/Hour Applicants that do not currently have valid Lifeguard Certification Courses are recommended to apply to the Lifeguard position. Free courses will be offered for students to become Lifeguard Certified. Click here to view the Pool Manager I job description Click here to view the Pool Manager II job description Education, Training and Experience: * Must be 18 years of age or older. * High school diploma or GED Equivalent * Pool Manager I: A minimum of one (1) year paid experience in instructing or supervising water recreational activities. Pool Manager II: A minimum of two (2) year paid experience in instructing or supervising water recreational activities.  Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two (2) years.  * Possession of a valid Class "C" California Driver's License is required.  For out-of-state applicants, a valid driver's license is required.  A valid Class "C" California Driver's License must be obtained within (10) days of appointment (CA Vehicle code 12405c). * Possession of one of the following certificates from each category below: * American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate * YMCA Lifeguard  * Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Certificate AND  * American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor's (WSI) Certificate * YMCA SKIPPERS/Progressive Instructor Certificate      AND * American Red Cross First Aid For Public Safety Personnel (Title 22) * American Red Cross Standard First Aid Certificate * American Red Cross Community First Aid & Safety Certificate  * National Safety Council Standard First Aid Certificate AND * American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certificate * American Heart Association CPR Level "C" BLS (Basic Life Support) Certificate * American Red Cross Community CPR Certificate  Desirable Certification: American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Instructor All certificates must be valid for the duration of employment and attached to the application.
