Starting wage of $15 per hour How you Will Power our Purpose (Job Summary) Spike into an exciting season with our volleyball referee team at the YMCA! Ensure fair play and create unforgettable experiences while building confidence and teamwork in young athletes. You'll receive a complimentary household membership, flexible hours, and training to prepare for your first match. Orientation for all volleyball referees will be in August and September, with the season running from September 7 through October 26. Join us and make a positive impact, one call at a time! We have YMCA locations in Austin and Buda: * East Communities YMCA Center - 5315 Ed Bluestein Blvd. Austin, TX 78723 * Northwest Family YMCA Center - 5807 McNeil Dr. Austin, TX 78729 * Southwest Family YMCA Center - 6219 Oakclaire Dr. Austin, TX 78735 * Hays Communities YMCA Center - 465 Buda Sportsplex Dr, Buda, TX 78610 * TownLake YMCA Center - 1100 W Cesar Chavez St, Austin, TX 78703 * Springs Family YMCA Center- 27216 Ranch Rd 12, Dripping Springs, TX 78620 How You Will Make an Impact (Essential Functions) * Embrace the essence of YMCA Sports philosophy by fostering an environment of fairness and sportsmanship in every game, ensuring that every player has a positive and inclusive experience. * Ensure your presence at all pivotal Sports staff meetings to actively contribute to unified collaboration and strategic planning, fostering a cohesive team dedicated to the YMCA's mission. * Conduct thorough pre-game hazard assessments to prioritize player safety above all else, demonstrating a commitment to creating a secure and nurturing sports environment. * Prepare game venues with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring seamless operations that enhance the overall experience for players, spectators, and staff alike. * Promote transparent communication with players and their families, nurturing growth and development both on and off the field and fostering a sense of community within the YMCA sports program. * Embody YMCA's values, creating an inclusive atmosphere and enriching experiences for all. * Inspire others to embrace the YMCA's values, advocating for its impact and culture in all interactions. * Excel in duties, supporting YMCA's mission and community with passion and commitment. What You Bring to the Community Enterprise * Minimum age requirement: 16 years old. * America Red Cross required, including CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen. Don't worry if you don't have it - we offer certification services for free for future employees. * Strong knowledge of volleyball rules and regulations. * Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations. * You have a growth mindset. You quickly learn from failure and value feedback in the effort to continuously improve. * You are a team player.
