JOB TITLE: Assistant General Manager Pay Transparency: $67k - $69K (DOE) Schedule: Must be available to work some evenings and weekends Role and Responsibilities The Assistant General Manager is an important leadership position and will be responsible for assisting the General Manager in the oversight of fitness center. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for carrying out Active Wellness's commitment to service its members in the best fitness environment possible with the friendliest staff, most educated trainers, cleanest facility, most ethical business practices and state of the art equipment. This person is responsible for achieving club objectives by developing a quality environment, meeting or exceeding financial projections, overseeing ancillary sales and supporting the club in meeting or exceeding new membership and retention goals. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for being fully knowledgeable about operations and emergency procedures while supporting policies and procedures established by Active Wellness. This person also plays one of the most key roles in affecting the membership attrition rate. The cleanliness of the site, implementing member retention efforts, and hiring and management of the staff to ensure that the staff is well trained and friendly helps accomplish this objective. Specific Responsibilities Essential Functions * Is responsible for assisting in overseeing the site fitness center's, staff, operations, financial reporting and programs/services while exercising good judgment in providing excellent programs and customer service to our members. * Supervises the club massage program which includes meeting monthly revenue goals and staff management. * Supervises Housekeeping Lead and Member Services Supervisor and supports in resolving member services issues and club staffing. * Ensures legendary customer service, spotless club environment, and friendly, knowledgeable staff. * Ensures club meets the requirements of the quarterly OSE. * Manages member survey NPS program. * Assists in the handling of the operational ordering of supplies within budget guidelines. * Resolves member and employee issues. * Reports on Payroll, maintenance orders and resolve repairs and maintenance issues. * Responsive to member feedback. * Conducts new employee and quarterly staff safety trainings * Administers emergency care to members and guests in need of assistance * Works as a TEAM with all other departments * Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor Other Functions * Uphold Active Wellness written policies and procedures. * Enforce policies fairly and consistently. * Attend Active Wellness management meetings and training. * Conduct a physical inspection of the entire club several times a day and make any corrections. * Assist in sales of all programs and memberships. * Develop relationships with members and encourage member referrals. * Manage all logs/record keeping (OSHA, gift certificate, lost and found). * Maintain safety standards from OSHA. * Be knowledgeable about all programs and activities offered by Active Wellness * Promote club services and activities * Assist with keeping the club well stocked and clean * Handle injury and illness and security incident reporting
