Responsibilities & Qualifications Novelis seeks a Plant Manager for its Berea, Kentucky facility. The plant manager will empower a passionate team of 150 employees to meet safety, customer centricity, quality, operational excellence and financial goals. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, North America, the purpose of this role is to lead all manufacturing operations, including recycling and remelt of aluminum, at specified volumes, quality and cost levels while maintaining high morale and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement. Responsibilities * Promote and guarantee a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, contractors and guests each and every day. * Enable results for production, maintenance, quality, shipping and receiving, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement. * Empower the plant production staff by mentoring others to succeed, seeking and sharing regular feedback and holding self and others accountable for results. * Partner with commercial teams to provide the highest quality and service possible to the customer. * Work closely with team to develop and implement an annual plan and budget. * Lead a multi-year maintenance plan for the facility, including preventative maintenance and vital repairs and upgrades to equipment and capital assets. * Communicate crucial information on plant performance, challenges and plans with employees, union leaders, customers, suppliers, local government and community leaders. * Ensure that all plant, equipment and facilities are used, operated and maintained efficiently and in a way that ensures effective long-term service. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution * 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with 5+ years of that time spent in supervisory leadership roles. * Experience leading organizations of similar scale or scope. * Strong background in operations management and demonstrated history of driving continuous improvement. * Strong ability to effectively communicate and work with all levels of the organization * Ability to think critically and solve problems * Capable of guiding teams through transitions and implementing strategies to inspire change within the organization and ways of working. * Cost and profit oriented, with solid understanding of profit and loss management Preferred Qualifications * Master of Engineering or related field. * Previous plant or large manufacturing unit management experience. * Experience implementing reliability engineering and lean-six sigma techniques. * Experience leading cultural transformations. * Education in business / supply chain management to complement engineering/technical degree.
