Position Type: Specialist/Education Specialist II Date Posted: 7/24/2024 Location: Education Service Center Region 13 - 600 District:   Education Service Center Region 13 - website  Additional Information: Show/Hide Reports To: Senior Coordinator Student Support Services Salary: This is a full-time 12 month position at 232 days with a minimum annual salary of $70,739.00. Job Summary (Primary Purpose): * Provide training, facilitation and technical assistance to campuses in the area of restorative practices utilizing the International Institute for Restorative practices framework. * Mediation training to LEA's to assist in the development of the Facilitated Individual Education Program (FIEP) process, as well as other FIEP trainings required by the grant. * Provide onsite and training support in the area of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, Coaching Classroom Management. * Support Special Education initiatives and compliance as a Certified TIER Essentials, Behavior Supports, and Cultural Linguistic Responsive Practices trainer and coach. * Responsible for conducting network meeting for the Family Liaison Action Group and Special Education Family Engagement and submit the quadratics to the state lead. * Support R13 districts in compliance with Chapter 37 student discipline and Manifestation Determination and Review. Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Education/Certificates): * Master's degree or higher preferred * Specialized training in behavior and behavior coaching * Special Education certification required Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Education/Certificates): * Knowledge of best practices in early childhood behavioral intervention * Certification in Behavioral Threat Assessment and AS+K Suicide Prevention * Classroom management support * Multi-lingual Knowledge/Skills (Experience): * Experience with mediation and conflict resoultion * Specialized knowledge in the area of restorative practices * Facilitation of meetings * Ability to manage multiple projects * Familiar with the MTSS framework and expertise in implmentatation of PBIS, classroom management, and leadership and character development. Special Knowledge/Skills: * Bilingual preferred * Effective communication skills both written and verbal * Actively and independently seek professional growth opportunities Major Responsibilities: * Serve as a representative of Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community * Create and support on-line learning courses in the area of behavior * Understand and meet ESC 13 client needs in the areas of behavior, compliance and intervention * Communicate with Region 13 clients in the area of behavior, and student learning needs * Provide content knowledge and leadership to district behavior staff as requested * Advise Senior Coordinator of Student Support Services on behavior trends, program development, and product development * Deliver ESC 13 products and services in the area of mediation, facilitation, and restorative dialogue * Understand and use ESC 13 internal systems * Perform other duties as assigned Equipment Used: * Telephone, fax, copier, computer and peripherals, other equipment as requirements change Working Conditions: * Prolonged or irregular work hours * Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds * Willingness and ability to travel frequently in and out of Region 13 Benefits: * Generous contribution to medical benefits * Twelve vacation days per year * Ten leave days per year * Four telecommute days per month * Discounted wellness offerings * Form more information browse the Benefits Booklet The above statements are intended to describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and are not intended to represent an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills that may be required.
