About the role: We are currently seeking a Senior Dragline Engineer & Senior Drill & Blast Engineer at our Coppabella Moorvale Mine. Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometers southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) for export markets, with an extension in Greenfield stage due to start coal production early this year. Reporting to the Operations Technical Superintendent, you will be required to develop and implement mine designs and schedules in line with production requirements. Monitor, track and report on performance against the mine schedule, site budget and ensure compliance within safety, environmental, legislative and statutory requirements. Duties will include: Develop, implement and uphold safe and efficient work practices at all times; Develop and distribute high quality schedules and designs that maximises the efficient use of site resources. Maintain and ensure reports are kept up to date whilst identifying opportunities for improvement and cost savings Ensuring maximum optimisation is reached whilst abiding by safe work practices and environmental regulations. Present weekly plans clearly and concisely to colleges, mid and upper management and communicate critical paths, risks and opportunities. Monitor mining performance against short and mid-term schedules to ensure waste movement and coal flow schedules meet budgeted movement. Build positive working relationships with both internal and external parties Assist in developing budgets and forecasts as required.

The lifestyle: This position is available to accommodate a 9 Day Fortnight (5 on 2 off/4 on 3 off)

Employee recognition program About You: Tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering, or comparable degree Experience in open cut mining operations within the coal industry preferred Minimum 5 year’s experience as a Mining Engineer across Truck-Shovel and/or Dragline and /or Drill & Blast. Proven site experience in the timely and cost-efficient planning of mining activities and associated tasks for a large open-cut mine The ability to develop dig plans whilst considering pit design, ground conditions, environmental constraints and accesses. Demonstrated experience with and sound working knowledge of CAD software such as Vulcan, Deswik MS Excel and scheduling software such as Spry or Gantt Scheduler. Demonstrate successful application/s of Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives through scheduling, design or innovation in current or previous mining positions. Excellent planning and organising skills, the ability coach / mentor junior engineers and to enlist help or resources when required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills Uncompromising commitment to safety and the environment.
