Job Responsibilities Careers at DHEC: Work that makes a difference! Embracing Service, Inspiring Innovation, Promoting Teamwork, Pursuing Excellence, and Advancing Equity Collaborates with the Health Equity and Inclusion (HE&I ) Head of Training and Development to design, develop, and implement training programs and resources focused on health equity, diversity, and inclusion. Assists in the creation of micro-learning educational materials, presentations, and other resources to support training initiatives aimed at enhancing cultural competence and reducing health disparities. Facilitate training sessions and workshops for the agency staff on topics related to health equity, diversity, inclusion, and cultural humility. Coordinates logistics for training events, including scheduling, venue coordinator, and participant registration. Supports the Office of Health Equity and Inclusion by maintaining training records, tracking program metrics, and preparing reports as need. Assists in the development and implementation of strategies to promote a culture of equity and inclusion within the agency. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, including community organizations, academic institutions, and other government agencies to enhance training and development efforts related to health equity and inclusion. Participates in meeting, work groups, and other events to represent the HE&I team and share best practices in health equity and inclusion training. Collects feedback from participants and stakeholders to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement. Works closely with the HE&I team to refine training curricula and methodologies based on evaluation findings. Stays informed about current trends, research, and best practices in health equity, diversity, and inclusion. Other Duties as Assigned. Minimum and Additional Requirements State Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience. Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Experience with overseeing and implementing program and administrative activities, and community engagement/outreach experience. Experience with identifying data sources and collecting and managing qualitative data Additional Comments DRIVING RECORD: If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver's license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record. This position is part of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control's Chief of Staff's Office. The work performed supports DHEC's mission to improve the quality of life for all South Carolinians by protecting and promoting the health of the public and the environment. Effective July 1, 2024, this position will transfer to the South Carolina Department of Public Health created by Senate Bill 399 which provides for the creation of the Department of Public Health to assume the public health-related functions of DHEC.
