What you'll do We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Incident Commander to join our team and coordinate our cybersecurity incident management efforts. In this role, you will serve as the central point of contact for major cybersecurity incidents, taking ownership of the incident management process from identification through resolution. The role involves strategic project management, effective communication with stakeholders including leadership, and handling challenging incidents independently. The ideal candidate will have a background in incident response - preferably in cybersecurity - superb communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment. The role includes on-call responsibilities outside business hours and weekends, daily reporting, and ticket administration. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and responsible, with the ability to prioritize under full workloads, operate under time constraints, build upon and improve established procedures, and keep detailed documentation of incidents and resolution steps. This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Director of Security Operations. Responsibility * Serve as a subject matter expert for Docusign's cybersecurity incident management * Lead and manage complex and sensitive security incidents to conclusion independently, identifying and resolving challenges to ensure timely resolution * Collaborate with various internal teams to develop, implement and complete containment and remediation actions * Lead strategic projects to meet incident management objectives and participate in post-incident analysis and documentation to identify root causes and preventive actions * Monitor, evaluate and report on incident management programs, processes and statistics to assure continuous improvement * Manage collaborators and cultivate relationships to enhance cross-functional investigations * Drive continual improvement through the refinement of incident documentation processes, assisting with the development of metrics to measure investigation results * Serve as an escalation point within the Incident Management process, initiating Crisis Incident response processes and applying the escalation process when required * Gather and analyze information to understand the impact on systems, data, and partners * Track the progress of incident response activities and ensure that deadlines and milestones are met * Coordinate the allocation of resources to support incident response efforts * Document and conduct post-incident reviews to identify lessons learned and improve response processes Job Designation Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation) Positions at Docusign are assigned a job designation of either In Office, Hybrid or Remote and are specific to the role/job. What you bring Basic * 5+ years experience in Incident Response * Experience with cybersecurity principles and best practices * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience * Experience with troubleshooting techniques and problem-solving in a 24x7x365 environment Preferred * 2+ years experience in Cyber Security Incident Response * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders * Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure during high-stress incidents * Demonstrated ability to lead under pressure, make decisions in ambiguous situations, and drive cross-functional collaboration swiftly * Proactive and collaborative approach to incident management, with the ability to adapt quickly to evolving threats and technologies * Strong problem-solving skills to quickly identify root causes and develop appropriate response strategies * Ability to lead incident calls confidently and independently to a successful resolution * Has capacity to work well interpersonally across various levels and disciplines, as well as influence and lead without direct authority * Ability to prioritize and effectively handle competing priorities and projects * Capability to lead process analysis and provide recommendations for process improvements * Analytical approach with the skill to assess and prioritize security incidents based on risk and impact * Experience in developing and conducting incident response training and exercises for internal teams * Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS) * Relevant industry certifications Wage Transparency Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations: California: $114,200 - $177,100 base salary Washington and New York (including NYC metro area): $109,600 - $156,950 base salary This role is also eligible for bonus and benefits.
