JOB GOAL: To provide leadership and guidance in the development, implementation, and coordination of the district's technology curriculum; enhance integration of technology throughout the curriculum; promote the effective use of instructional technology throughout the schools; and, provide staff with professional development opportunities. This position will be instrumental in the district's digital transition toward mobile learning initiatives, special technology-enhanced programs, personalized learning methodology, IT curriculum integration in K-12, and provide leadership support for media services throughout the district. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Eleven (11) month (220 days) contract, Pay 804 Range 123 ($60,552 - $105,209), plus benefits package. NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based upon education and experience. FLSA: Exempt Reports to: Chief Academic Officer QUALIFICATIONS: * State of Arkansas Professional Educator License. * Master's degree required in one of the following areas: Educational Leadership, Instructional Technology, Library Media Sciences, or Curriculum Instruction. * Minimum of five years of teaching experience in the K-12 educational environment preferred. * Software proficiency working with Google Apps for Education, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel including Pivot Tables), Native OSX Applications (iMovie…), Web 2.0 and Social media tools (Twitter, Facebook, Google+, etc.), and image editing tools. * Hardware proficiency working with document cameras, interactive whiteboards, mobile devices (iOS & Android), and digital image capture tools. * Ability to evaluate, and interpret end-user needs and to develop/recommend appropriate solutions. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal as well as technical and non-technical communication skills). * Effective oral and written communication skills to create, compose, and edit written materials. * Ability to work successfully under direction, independently, and in conjunction with other district team members who have varying levels of technical expertise. * Ability to prioritize tasks and juggle multiple activities and projects * Ability to read and understand technical materials. Such alternatives and additions to the above qualifications may be deemed appropriate by the Superintendent. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements of duties and responsibilities describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position. * Provide leadership in the development, management, coordination, and support of the integration of instructional technology into the District's curriculum. * Responsible for ensuring the back-end integration of curricular/academic technology systems to ensure the efficient, swift, and smooth integration and implementation of academic programming. * Identify, plan, coordinate, and facilitate meetings, project implementation teams, and interdepartmental planning groups to ensure meaningful and effective use of technology in support of the District's strategic and operational goals. * Identify needs and plan District-wide and building-level instructional technology related professional development. * Support the day-to-day tasks and roles of the Instructional Technology Specialists and/or Instructional Technology Partners in developing informational and instructional supports to meet the needs of users. * Participate in the planning and the role building staff will play in the implementation of technology professional development and curriculum alignment. * Provides direction and coordination in developing and implementing the district technology plan and developing and system for coordinating instructional tech to be vetted for CIPA/COPPA compliance as well as alignment with district and school instructional priorities. * Provide project management and planning assistance for One-to-One Technology Initiatives. Develop and oversee the creation of documentation to ensure effective communication during the implementation and maintenance phase. * Consult with and support teachers in integrating laptops into daily instruction. Support teachers in planning, delivering, and evaluating instruction using technology. Promote a "virtual school" environment online to provide resources, assignments, etc. * Provide parent liaison services. * Respond to parent communications: questions, concerns, and needs. * Coordinate and provide parent information meetings and parent education in the evening. * Implement guidelines for student usage and handling of One-to-One program devices. * Create guidelines for downloading images, music, video, and other Internet resources. * Discuss care and handling of one-to-one devices at home and school. * Promote standards for innovative teaching and learning through professional development. Develop and review all instructional technology professional development offerings, procedures, and work practices to ensure they follow established legal, ethical, and security standards and are compliant. * Produce communications and community engagement using technology. * Other duties as assigned by the Chief Academic Officer.
