Who We Are Project for Pride in Living, Inc. (PPL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering low-income people to become self-reliant through integrated services. Job Summary PPL is looking for an energetic intern with strong collaboration an organizational skills. Interest in researching and supporting recruitment and retention strategies, onboarding steps for new staff, and updating employee filing system. This position will also assist in coordination of the voter engagement work of PPL's Public Policy Committee. The Talent, Equity, and Culture department is centered on people and race equity. The work weaves race equity into how policies, procedures, and practices support and represent the realities of staff and communities we serve. We are looking for someone who wants to work with and in communities, especially communities of color. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Human Resources * Research and support the ideation of new recruitment and retention strategies. * Filing to support PPL's move from physical to digital filing. * Support staff during recruitment events. * Support scheduling interviews and meetings with staff. * Attend HR meetings as necessary. Public Policy * Attend and record regular PPL Public Policy planning team meetings. * Work with the Communications team to create voter engagement social media content. * Assist the Public Policy Committee in designing and implementing a voter engagement strategy. * Supporting PPL's mission to get folks knowledgeable around voting areas and getting registered to vote. * Supporting community members who regained the right to vote from restore the vote. * Provide feedback and editing skills to make flyers. * Attending community events to distribute flyers. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum Requirements * Strong desire to serve communities and staff from diverse backgrounds. * Strong facilitation skills/willingness to learn these skills. * Self-starter with strong time management and documentation skills; excellent verbal communication skills. * Ability to work independently as well as work collaboratively. * Can handle sensitive data with care. * Can work on teams. * Positive and upbeat energy. * Has basic computer skills.
