Job Description: Duties & Responsibilities Attend an extensive orientation in August and participate in programming and outreach activities. Be at MassArt 24 hours (typically three days) per week through the end of the academic year(mid-May). Have 12-14 client hours per week and will have opportunities to develop outreach programs for the College community, as well as lead support groups and focused workshops. Provide case management and referrals for students on clinical caseload. Meet weekly with individual supervisor(s), and will also be provided weekly group supervision. Attend practice seminars with a focus on topics relevant to higher education, mental health, and social justice. Maintain up-to-date, time sensitive, and accurate clinical documentation for clinical caseload. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Commitment to socially just and equitable practice. Demonstrated skill providing clinical services for diverse clients, including international populations and clients who identify along the gender and sexual orientation spectra. Experience with people from marginalized groups and the issues they face as they navigate with dominant culture(s) and between cultures. Appreciation and knowledge of intersecting identities, the process of identity development (intersectional identity development), and how this varies between individuals. Ability to manage a full caseload within a brief treatment, time-limited clinical setting. Ability to manage crisis situations, including suicidality and danger to others. Highly effective interpersonal skills; ability to work well with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds; ability to work in a highly collaborative manner. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Requirements: Current enrollment in an MSW, Mental Health Counseling, or other clinical counseling program seeking an advanced year field placement Additional Information: Please note MassArt does not provide the following: * Employment-based visa sponsorship or non-student exchange visitor visa sponsorship. * E-Verify. * Reimbursement for travel.
