Overview Sugarloaf is looking for an outdoor enthusiast with a passion for Nordic skiing and experience as a team leader to join our community as the new Director of the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center. Tucked away in the woods just minutes from our alpine base area is one of Maine's largest Nordic centers, the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center. The lodge is home to a full Nordic retail shop, ski school, and rental center; an NHL sized ice rink; and a café, all surrounded by more than 50K of the most picturesque, groomed trails in New England. The Outdoor Center Director oversees and supports the dedicated team that makes all of this possible. Currently, this role is a full-time winter season salaried position with a competitive wage. However, this has the potential to become a full-time, year-round role with benefits for the right fit. Responsibilities * Oversee physical lodge and trail network * Provide and support the training of both indoor and outdoor staff on operations and service * Oversee and maintain rental programs and retail systems * Ensure safety of team members and guests * Responsible for purchasing and payroll * Serve as a valuable connection between the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center and the Town of Carrabassett Valley Qualifications * Relevant Nordic experience is preferred; knowledge of Nordic operations is helpful * Experience leading a team is required * Previous success in a customer service role preferred * A passion for the outdoors and a friendly demeanor is a must Sugarloaf Team Member Benefits include: * Free lift pass for skiing and/or riding (at Sugarloaf, Sunday River, Loon and Pleasant Mountain) * Discounts at resort F&B and retail locations * Discounted ski/snowboard lessons and rentals * Access to Nordic trails and equipment rentals at the Outdoor Center * Discounted passes at other Boyne and partner resorts * Eligibility for end of season bonus * Team Members may also be eligible to earn up to 40 hours of paid time off
