The incumbent serves as a Transportation Specialist managing all Coast Guard owned and leased government vehicles, telematics, and electric vehicle supply equipment Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: * Providing fleet and personal property direction and guidance to all Local Motor Vehicle Managers (MVMs) specified units within the regional supported unit's area of responsibility (AOR) * Ensure accurate and timely updating of Official Vehicle Reporting program (e.g., GSAFleet). * Processing supported unit's property requests for additions, transfers, excess to unit needs, deletions, tracking and preparing summaries of property activities to appropriate Property Management program offices. * Serving as the SILC's Cellular Resource Coordinator (CRM) for the Coast Guard wide Cellular Wireless Managed Services (CWMS) Program * Providing technical authoritative advice and assistance to supported MFMs and MVMs, program and operating managers concerning application of Fleet Management Regulations, Executive Orders, and DHS and Coast Guard policy Help Requirements Conditions of Employment * U.S. Citizenship is required. * This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). * A one-year probationary period may be required. * Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Qualifications At the GS-12 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal service. Examples of specialized experience include: Reviewing acquisitions to ensure conformance with agency and departmental guidance and policy; Compiling and developing narrative and statistical material for presentation to top management and other key staff members; Assisting and supporting the Coast Guard Fleet Manager with providing fleet and Personal Property program management direction and guidance to unit MVMs, to ensure units properly maintain personal property asset inventory accuracy, physical accountability, and the accuracy of fleet management information system submissions in compliance with DHS and Coast Guard policy. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
