Function/Duties of Position This position assists with the coordination and management of a research study for caregivers for those with dementia, and a second project that teaches clinicians about dementia. This work will take place at the Layton Aging & Alzheimer's Disease Center. The RA will manage a large study for caregivers for those with dementia. This includes recruiting, screening, consenting, and managing research participants. The RA will work with the team to identify potential participants, then screen and consent them. The RA will need to organize all aspects of the study, including (but not limited to) scheduling of participants, managing interventionists, collecting and entering data in REDCap and Qualtrics. This RA will be responsible for data management for caregiving projects directed by Dr. Lindauer. Previous human subjects research experience preferable, but not required. Strong interpersonal communication skills a must. Ability to complete complex and detail-oriented duties while working closely with patients, research subjects, families, providers, investigators, study staff and external organizations. Basic data management skills, including REDCap experience, are required. Must have the ability to integrate information from multiple sources. This work requires the use of independent judgement, problem solving skills, and project and time management. Personal transportation for community activities required. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's in relevant field AND 1 year of relevant experience, OR Associate's AND 3 years of relevant experience, OR 4 years of relevant experience, OR Equivalent combination of training and experience * Experience working with diverse communities * Strong interpersonal skills * Intermediate and experienced knowledge of Word, Excel, and other MS Office programs * High level of technological proficiency, including video-chat technology * Experience with REDCap and Qualtrics databases * Experience with data management * Excellent eye to detail and organization skills; self-starter with ability to prioritize work demands and manage time appropriately; demonstrated high level of organization and ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks * Ability to speak and communicate clearly, and demonstrate a high level of professionalism; ability to interact patiently and respectfully * Ability to work independently and collaborate with other teams Preferred Qualifications * Experience writing/editing articles for newsletters * Experience using basic statistics * Experience working with older adults and with cognitively or neurologically impaired older adults Additional Details * Work location: Hatfield Research Center (OHSU hospital) and the Neurology Clinic located in the Center for Health and Healing on the waterfront * Periodic off-site recruitment events require some evening and weekend work and personal transportation. Periodic remote work may be available. * Must be able to sit at a computer without a break for 45 minutes.
