Department Information The Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) fosters a positive business climate, encourages quality economic development through the support of local and regional economic development activities across the state. A comprehensive slate of programs within OEDIT's divisions work together to offer economic development services for all Colorado businesses - new and expanding, traditional and emerging, small and large - including retention programs to ensure continued competitiveness of Colorado's economic base, and job training to keep Colorado's workforce the best in the nation. The mission of the Creative Industries Division (CCI) of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade is to promote, support and expand the creative industries to drive Colorado's economy, grow jobs and enhance our quality of life. CCI offers seventeen unique programs to individuals, organizations and businesses working throughout Colorado's diverse metro, rural, and mountain resort regions within the creative industries. CCI collaborates with special districts, philanthropic organizations, arts leaders, local governments, other state agencies and the federal government to leverage resources and networks within the creative sector to better impact and support Colorado's creative workforce, economy and overall ecosystem. Description of Job POSITION The Creative Industries Marketing & Outreach Manager will be responsible for leading CCI's marketing, communications and outreach efforts and providing administrative support for meetings, events and travel. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES I. Marketing and communications * Manage CCI's monthly newsletter, website, social media, and other marketing platforms, through Salesforce Marketing Cloud and social media platforms * Serve as CCI liaison to the OEDIT Marcom division including overseeing CCI's website program page edits, drafting and distributing press releases and coordinating press inquiries * Develop marketing and outreach strategies and campaigns for CCI programs and content * Manage external communication and general inquiries * Coordinate development of digital and print marketing materials * Oversee digital accessibility requirements * Support the Operations division by updating program web pages and creating social media content, ensuring to incorporate accessibility best practices into digital content creation. II. Community engagement, outreach, and events * Manage strategies & projects that advance CCI's mission, focusing on partnerships and collaboration * Represent CCI at public events and info sessions to promote programs and resources * Works with the team and vendors to help plan and implement events including the Creative Industries Summit, program info sessions and community engagement events * Provide support for in person and virtual meetings, events, and manage travel for the office * Coordinate logistics for quarterly Council meetings, communication with Council members regarding attendance and travel requirements, and preparation of Council meeting materials * Represent CCI on the Colorado Tourism Office Care for Colorado Coalition III. Administrative management * Serve as liaison for the 11 member Governor appointed Council on Creative Industries * Serve as point of contact for corporate bank cards COMPETENCIES This position requires a candidate who has great customer service skills, and an ability to work independently on solo projects and also collaboratively as a team member. Candidates should have exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail; ability to multitask; strong oral and written communications skills and able to clearly articulate key points when writing and speaking; problem solving acumen; and demonstrate confidence, diplomacy, and flexibility.; active listening; creative and critical thinking; Ability to build collaborative relationships within OEDIT, CCI and external creative industries community. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while multitasking is essential. Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights Education and Experience Requirements * BA/BS degree in public or arts administration, marketing/communications, business or similar field * Related occupational experience will substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis * Marketing, communications and social media experience * Experience with Excel, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Qualifications * Knowledge of Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Drupal web platform or similar platforms * Experience planning and managing meetings and events Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they can perform every job description task. Supplemental Information Salary Range: $55,000 - $62,000 Annually This position is considered non-classified, which means the position is not part of the Colorado State Personnel System. Therefore, the individual appointed to this position is considered at-will, and is not covered by the State Personnel Rules or the State Classification System. However, this position does come with the same benefits (retirement, insurance, etc.) as every other State employee, and with the same opportunities, pride and passion that comes with working for the great State of Colorado. Even though employment is at-will, non-classified positions have protections against discrimination and retaliation in state and federal employment laws. "At-will" employment means that either the employee or the State may terminate the employment relationship at any time for any reason or no reason, with or without notice or cause, as long as no federal or state law is violated. A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and state seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. While all offers are compliant with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, there is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
