PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION Deliver technology that meets the needs required to achieve business success and aligned with the Enterprise business strategy. Responsible for operations of the enterprise infrastructure and drive improvements that ensure systems are operating efficiently, are properly maintained, and adhere to security and compliance requirements. Ensure supervised staff has appropriate skills and knowledge needed to effectively perform their duties. Adhere to both operational and project timelines. Consult with staff, management, and vendors to continually develop infrastructure that meets their needs and capabilities. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * Develop and maintain Infrastructure strategic plan ensuring all infrastructure software and hardware environments meet the current and future business needs. * Oversee the daily implementation of operating procedures, ensuring compliance with business objectives. * Take leadership role in organizational projects ensuring on time delivery of required resources. Work with project management to align staff with project schedules and ensure change management processes are followed. * Review systems infrastructure security and business continuity plans making the necessary adjustments required to meet operational requirements. * Routinely review system audit reports, system security reports, and system performance reports on a regular basis and propose corrective action plans to supervisor. See that the approved plan is validated and deployed properly and within a timely manner. * Directly or through subordinates: * Continually improve operational efficiency by managing the deployment, daily operations, and maintenance of systems infrastructure. * Coordinate the implementation and testing of all system administration and maintenance plans with other affected credit union staff. * Work with IT Technical Writer or Documentation Specialist to develop procedures for the maintenance, installation, and deployment of all managed systems. Provide instruction and assistance to other staff on how to follow these policies and procedures. When system complexity dictates, develop procedures independently. * Develop Key Performance Indicators for all managed systems ensuring optimal performance, security, and data integrity. * Develop and apply patch management schedules and work with the Security team to define prioritization. * Work with other Information Technology teams, other credit union staff, and third-party vendors to conduct annual (at minimum) Business Recovery testing. * Management Responsibilities: * Hold bi-weekly staff meetings (at minimum) to identify areas for improvement, changes in procedures, new developments, issues, and project statuses. * Ensure that all employees are thoroughly trained on all managed systems through available and approved educational resources for all aspects of their job. *
  • Responsible for approval of all absences, annual leave, and overtime for the staff reporting directly. * Works collaboratively with direct reports to support the career progression and development of the infrastructure team helping them realize their potential. * Ensure self and staff adhere to credit union policies and procedures. * Work with leadership to develop and maintain 2-year strategic plan. * Work with leadership to develop annual budget requirements. * Serve as escalation contact. * All other duties as assigned. RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS Supervise Approximately: 3-10 Reports to: VP of Infrastructure and Operations Contacts: Frequent contact with other employees, departments, and outside vendors. Some contact with members. Qualifications EDUCATION * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the information technology or related field. * Equivalent I.T. experience, in lieu of degree may be considered. EXPERIENCE * Six (6) + years of progressive experience in information technology. * Two (2) + years of experience in management. SKILLS REQUIRED * Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management. * Demonstrated strength in creating business strategies and driving results across internal teams and/or external partners. * Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to translate technical jargon for non-technical peers. * Ability to establish and maintain technical documentation. * Must be highly organized and possess exemplary time management skills in order to manage projects that are wholly or in part the responsibility of the managed team. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Position involves wrist/hand manipulation; good visual acuity for detail work; ability to bend stoop on a regular basis; reach overhead and lift up to 50 pounds. * Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for frequent viewing of computer monitor and review of documents. * Must possess a valid Texas driver's license, means of transportation and be able to travel independently. MENTAL REQUIREMENTS * Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. * Must have a strong ability to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. * Must have a strong ability to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. * Must be able to remain calm and professionally when working with different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization. * Must demonstrate the highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. * Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. * Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. * Can exercise the highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters. TECHNICAL SKILLS * PC's and printers, telecommunications equipment, calculator, fax and copy machine. Knowledge of IT infrastructure as applied both in high volume business processing environments and in consumer-oriented businesses. * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Server infrastructure. * Working knowledge of virtualization technologies, enterprise network design, and storage area networks. * Moderate knowledge of Cisco switch and router hardware and configurations. Fundamental knowledge of current Microsoft desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
