Essential Job Functions: 1. Participate in teaching activities as a teaching assistant in one of the following courses, depending upon background: optics lab, OTM, and/or assisting the optometry clinic or optical service 2. Serve as research assistant in one of the following areas: visual optics, biochemistry, eye movement, or clinical vision research under the guidance of supervisor. 3. Ensure compliance with College and University policies, procedures and protocols. 4. Participate in teaching and service activities as assigned. 5. Other duties as assigned. Marginal Job Functions: Maintain workspace in orderly manner. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Must have attained a minimum score of 580 on TOEFL exam for proficiency in English, if a foreign native. 2. The ability to communicate effectively with others in English in both technical and non-technical language, both orally and in writing. Job Requirements: Required Certifications/Licensures: Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Major (if required): Required Experience: Minimum two (2) years experience in active research. Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in optometry, ophthalmology, vision science or related field. Is this a safety sensitive position? No Background Screening Required?
