Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) is one of the largest integrated sports and entertainment companies in the country with one of the most diverse partnership groups in all of sports. In addition to Capital One Arena - a venue which hosts 3M+ visitors across over 250 events annually, MSE also manages MedStar Capitals Iceplex (training facility for the Capitals), MedStar Health Performance Center (training facility for the Wizards, Mystics, and Go-Go) and EagleBank Arena (a 12,000+ live event venue on George Mason University's campus). In July 2020, MSE partnered with William Hill (subsequently acquired by Caesars Entertainment) to open the first ever in-arena sportsbook in North America, now called Caesars Sportsbook. Position Overview: The Washington Capitals Game Night Staff/Street Team - Captain serves in a leadership role as a representative of the department and takes a larger role in planning and event-day execution. This role is able to be on headset during Mites on Ice and serve as communication liaisons with Game Entertainment. Are you passionate about youth sports and growing the game of hockey? Responsibilities: * Serve as a Washington Capitals brand ambassador in the greater D.C. community and surrounding areas. * Coordinate and participate in various street hockey and hockey school events. * Support Street Caps hockey clinics in the community including instructing/coaching both youth and adults. * Assist in the planning and execution of various women's hockey growth initiatives. * Participate in on-ice clinics and youth hockey events. * Represent the Capitals Youth Hockey Development Department. * Lead curriculum, practice planning, and all instruction for all on-ice and off-ice youth hockey events and clinics. * Complete Mites on Ice programming at Capitals home games and serve as primary point of contact when full-time staff members are not present. * Assist in training other part-time employees. * Coordinate event schedules with other part-time employees and act as primary point of contact during events. * Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: * Must be at least 18 years old. * Previous on-ice hockey playing experience required (minimum high school hockey, college hockey preferred). * Off-ice hockey (street hockey & inline hockey) playing experience required. * Previous on-ice coaching experience required (minimum 2-3 years of coaching experience). * Be a USA Hockey CEP Level 1 (or greater) Certified Coach. Pay Range: $23 USD/hour.
