Job Title: Volunteer Assistant Track Coach Job Summary Position is responsible for assisting the head coach with organizing the track and field program at Coker University. Position assists with conducting practices, instructing student athletes in practice, recruiting, monitoring academic progress and other duties as assigned. Essential Duties * Assists the Head coach with instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport. * Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises as directed by the head track coach. * Assesses player's skills, monitors players during competition and practice, and keeps the head track coach informed of the athletic performance of students. * Assists the head trackl coach with supervising athletes during practices and competition. * Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete's injury. * Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators. * Assists in the recruiting of prospective student-athletes. * Assists with the monitoring of the academic success of student-athletes. * Is committed to DEI. * Support and model the Coker University Service Standards. Other Duties * Attends staff development meetings, clinics and other professional activities to improve coaching performance. * Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Head Coach. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required) Experience coaching track. The ability to drive a Coker vehicle, obtain NCAA clearance to recruit, and CPR/AED certification is required.
