The incumbent is part of a global public health organization and is expected to support the Florida Department of Health in Manatee County in its mission to protect, promote, and improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county, and community efforts and its vision to be the Healthiest State in the Nation. We are seeking a public health professional who enthusiastically embodies our organization's mission, vision, and values to join our Community Health Division. The successful candidate will serve as a Health Educator Consultant in Manatee County, playing a pivotal role in advancing public health initiatives. We seek a dynamic individual with strong critical thinking skills and a commitment to personal and professional growth within our organization: Duties and Key Responsibilities: * Coordinate all aspects of local specified health promotion programs, including workplan development, implementation, and reporting. * Serve on community coalitions, collaborating with partners to advance public health initiatives. * Manage and attend community outreach events for the Community Health Division to promote health education. * Develop and distribute health promotion education materials that effectively engage and inform the community. This position requires occasional travel and frequent participation in weekend and evening outreach events. Activities may take place before, during, and after regular working hours, including weekends and holidays, to effectively engage with the community. While the outlined responsibilities provide a general framework, this role is dynamic and may involve additional duties or adjustments as needed to meet the evolving needs of the organization. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Proficiency in developing and delivering impactful presentations. * Expertise in building and maintaining strong community partnerships. * Strong ability to develop, manage, and execute programs and projects while meeting deadlines. * Strategic thinker with a keen ability to plan and anticipate future needs. * Skilled in researching, collecting, and analyzing data, and preparing comprehensive reports. * Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. * In-depth knowledge of public health principles and practices. Qualifications: Minimum: * At least one year of experience in health promotion or implementing public health programs. * Bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Haitian Creole (preferred) * Must have a valid Driver's License Preferred: * Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in one of the areas of study described above.
