Department: School of International Service Time Type: Part time Job Description: Summary: The Communications Assistant will assist with all aspects of the communications office. This position will report to the SIS Director of Digital Platforms and will work under the supervision of other SIS communications staff on a per-project basis. Essential Functions: Exact responsibilities will depend on student's skill set and interest areas along with priorities for communications office. Duties may include, but are not limited to: * Drafting social media copy for review by Communications staff. * Generating and possibly executing ideas for social media platforms (particularly Instagram) posts and reels. * Designing social media posts using Canva. * Drafting content for the SIS website. * Updating content on the SIS website. * Transcribing interviews conducted by Communications staff from audio to written files. * Other duties as assigned. Salary Range: * $17.50 - $18.50 per hour. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: * Approximately 5-7 hours per week. * This position will require in-person work (ideally on Mondays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays). Required Education and Experience: * Current AU undergraduate student. * Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. Preferred Education and Experience: * Experience with Canva. * Experience with a CMS, like WordPress or similar. * Experience with Adobe Creative Suite/Creative Cloud. * Curiosity and experience with social media platforms.
