Position Responsibilities * Collaborate with engineers and maintenance department to develop and implement procedures to reduce or eliminate sources of systematic equipment failures * Own CAPEX projects * Optimize preventive maintenance procedures and provide clear instructions and documentation to technicians * Work with equipment vendors or second source companies to modify parts and improve Equipment performance * Identify opportunities for reducing maintenance and operating costs and provide cost studies for preventive maintenance activities * Optimize spare parts inventory and reduce spares cost * Investigates and resolves manufacturing equipment technical problems * Plan, prioritize, coordinate, and execute multiple parallel activities like calibrations, preventive maintenance, supplier support, spare parts, and project activities with minimal guidance * Provides supporting data on risk and recommendations * Use optical, mechanical, electrical, and or fluidics tools and knowledge to perform equipment troubleshooting * Understand basic internal instrument communication (RS232, PLC, IO) * Maintains safe work environment around chemicals * Make suggestions to management for improving this position or improving work processes * Work safely by observing safety rules, policies and procedures. Identify unsafe conditions or actions to management * Other duties as assigned Skills & Experience Requirements * 8 + years experience with chemical processing equipment, including pumps, vessels, and control valves * Familiar with PLC and SCADA * Technical troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude Education Responsibilities * Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering preferred Key Competencies (on a regular basis for your job responsibilities) * Decision making * Problem solving * Collaboration * Communication & Interpersonal Skills * Initiative * Influence Typical Work Hours/Schedule/Location/Travel time * Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and weekend work as required Physical Demands * Sit approximately 60-70% of the day in front of a computer monitor. * Visit different areas of the manufacturing facility (e.g., functional/analytical lab, packaging area, formulation area) to coordinate experiments, inspect production irregularities, or verify implementation of proper procedure.
