This is a compensation range for this position. Final compensation is based on the candidate's geographical region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. We are seeking a Construction laborer in the American Canyon, CA area. The main responsibility is to assist the Carpenters and Foreman on-site with whatever task is assigned. Learning and performing tasks swiftly and efficiently, paying attention, following proper safety procedures, and communicating are paramount. Duties and responsibilities * Follow all Colt and site-specific safety procedures at all times! * Assist carpenters and foreman on site with tasks as assigned, such as but not limited to: cleaning and preparing the job site, assisting material deliveries, and use of lifts when necessary and capable. * Develop proficiencies in the use and care of a circular saw and pneumatic nail guns, and hand tools * Perform basic punch work, including installing hold-downs, hangars, and other misc. hardware * Communicate with Carpenter, Foreman, Site Supervisor, and Project Manager when necessary * Increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities (safety seminars, toolbox talks, industry-related activities) Qualifications * Ability to use basic hand and power tools * Basic understanding of material types and sizes (i.e. 2x4, 2x6, sheathing) * Basic job safety knowledge * Desire to learn more skills and gain more on-site responsibilities Working conditions This is a temporary, project-based position and will conclude upon the completion of the employee's assigned project. Full time, temporary position, requiring minimum of 40 hours/week - when weekend work is required, it will be mandatory (and if applicable will be subject to overtime); essentially whatever it takes to get the job done. Environmental factors depend on job location but may include extremely cold, extremely hot and humid conditions in an effort to meet client expectations. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors and sometimes at extreme heights. Essential Function Requirements Must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance. Laborers must also be able to concentrate on their tasks. The ability to understand and communicate information is also essential. Ability to commute/relocate: * This position is in American Canyon, CA. The candidate will be expected to either commute or relocate at their own expense.
