Overview The Global Publishing team is seeking a Acquisitions and Development Editor - Spanish Bilingual to create and solicit projects from authors and literary agents to acquire and develop strategic partner content for Global Ongoing brands serving key ministry partners. This position is responsible for negotiating publishing terms, financial and otherwise, with authors and agents.and working with authors to ensure manuscripts meet expected Lifeway quality of writing, content, and style publishing standards. This role requires U.S. residency and work authorization. #LI-Remote Responsibilities A Acquisitions and Development Editor will: * Receive publishing requests from Global leadership to support strategic relationships across the company. * Handle author relations, editing oversight, and contribute to the marketing and sales strategy to maximize reach to target global and U.S. markets. * Promote Ongoing product line and design strategies to increase reach and marketshare across U.S. and potential global markets. * Create content and resource tools that align with the marketing strategy. * Procure final draft manuscripts that meet contract standards and expectations. * Formalize the onboarding and training of new authors by creating resources that: * Explain Lifeway and Global publishing philosophy. * Describe the purpose and goals of Ongoing curriculum. * Explain the design and function of our study guides. * Offer specific guidelines for writers regarding style, tone, and length of written resources. * Analyze and improve workflows to allow editorial work to be done with the best available internal or international team. * Develop and maintain a dynamic list of author prospects. * Assist Lifeway Global leadership with project management, author acquisitions, and author development as assigned. * Other duties as assigned Qualifications Education * Bachelor's degree in English, Communication, Journalism or related field. * Seminary degree or equivalent in theology or biblical studies preferred. * A combination of education and work experience may fulfill the education requirement. Experience Required * Live out Lifeway's mission and values, showing deep commitment to Kingdom work. * 5 plus years writing, publishing, or editorial experience * 1-2 years' coordinating and facilitating editorial teams and authors. * Previous acquisition editor experience a plus * Knowledge of Christian evangelical faith and theology * Bilingual (English / Spanish) written and verbal skills * Proficiency in oral and written Spanish is mandatory (native speaker) * MS Office Suite - Intermediate * Knowledge of editorial workflow and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) is preferred * Marketing - intermediate * Conceptual skills - intermediate * Presentation skills - advanced * Willingness to handle financial negotiations. * Travel to Nashville 4-6 times per year within the continental U.S. * Active membership in a Southern Baptist Church is required Options
