The Department of Economics at the University of Houston seeks to hire a Visiting Professor for one semester of the 2024-25 academic year who is an internationally recognized expert in the study of asset pricing and insurance in the context of economic growth. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated publication record in dynamic equilibrium asset trading, dynamic contract theory, and optimal taxation. Candidates should also be willing and able to engage with our faculty and students not only in their own area of expertise, but also in the areas sovereign default and international economics. In addition to their research record, the successful applicant will have demonstrated excellence in instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate level and will be able to offer courses at the PhD level on recursive methods, financial economics, and macroeconomic theory.
