Overview Opening Soon! North Port Behavioral Health Hospital North Port Behavioral Health Hospital is a new 144-bed acute hospital located in North Port, FL. North Port will have six units, providing psychiatric care to youths, adults and seniors, in addition, the hospital will have IOP/PHP and ECT services. Opening in October/November 2024, we will be seeking general psychiatrists to make up this new team Overview: Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication. Responsibilities * Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility. * Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures. * Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations. * Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders. * Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications. * Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner. Qualifications * Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required. * One or more years' post graduate degree practice preferred. * Licensed in the the state in which the facility(s) operate. Licenses/Certifications: * Board certification in psychiatry * Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
