Description The Senior Interior Designer / Space planner will develop designs, specifications, and prepare construction documents for interior scopes of work of government, military, and commercial aviation facilities. This position serves in a leadership role and drives interior design programming, design, and furniture strategies. The Interior Designer / Space Planner works directly with the client, manages and mentors junior staff, and assists with integrating interior design concepts with architectural and engineering systems. + Lead designer for interior design of government, military, and commercial aviation projects. + Lead a team of junior interior design staff in the development and execution of projects. + Work within a project team of architects and engineers, meeting with clients to assess needs and develop space programs for projects. + Assist with the marketing efforts in pursuing architectural / interior design work. + Other duties as assigned. Qualifications + Bachelor Degree in interior design, interior architecture, or related degree from an accredited program. + Minimum 8 years of related interior design, interior architecture experience + Excellent written & verbal communication skills. + Demonstrated knowledge of architectural principles and theory associated with project design and construction document production + Demonstrated knowledge of Interior Design specifications, calculations, industry standards as well as visual, written and oral skills + A National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ Certification) is required. + Strong programming, design, space planning, construction documentation and leadership skills. + Strong analytical & problem-solving skills. + Current understanding and application of commercial furniture systems. + Experience in Revit required. + Experience in 3-D visualization software such as Enscape and/or Lumin is preferred. + Experience with government and military design standards is preferred.
