The Shady Grove YMCA, a branch of the YMCA of Greater Richmond, is seeking an energetic, motivated team player to provide leadership and direction to our growing sports programs in the Glen Allen area. DUTIES The Sports Director II will manage youth and adult sports programs, including soccer, basketball, volleyball and cross-country, and sports camps. The Sports Director II will supervise full- and part-time sports staff, gym monitors, and volunteer coaches. Specific areas of focus will be on creating high-quality age-appropriate programs, building, and maintaining relationships with members, community organizations, and participants through verbal and written communication. The Sports Director will work closely with other branch leaders in efforts to welcome, support, and connect with all members. This is a hands-on position that will require afternoons, evenings, and weekends. This person must love to work with children and also have the ability to effectively communicate with parents. QUALIFICATIONS A college degree in a related field is preferred Candidates must have a minimum of three years of programmatic experience in youth sports, and well-rounded knowledge of sports programming and best practices. Experience in leading staff and volunteers critical to the success of the sports programs. Managing large sports programs and budgets is essential. Computer proficiency and program administration experience are essential CPR/First Aid certifications may be required Salary: $44,200 -47,000
