About You and The Role Zipline's Integration, Structures, and Mechanisms Team is a multi-disciplinary hardware team responsible for building and maintaining Zipline's engineering prototype fleet. This role will have you working closely and learning from our design and development teams as you bring to life carbon fiber composite prototypes. If you're a self-starter with a strong background in composite prototyping and repairs, and you want to be part of a team that is making a real difference in the world, then we want to hear from you. What You'll Do * Support early prototyping and testing activities by building, reworking, and repairing carbon fiber composite hardware. * Provide design and fabrication feedback to Design Engineers, as well as work closely with them to progress through issues that come up during fabrication. * Maintain tools and fixtures used for composite layups. * Meet aggressive deadlines, and provide support as needed during testing. * Have a quick and flexible approach to problem solving, task juggling, and collaboration. * Communicate build results, ideas, and problems to supervisor and Design Engineers * Escalate build issues through the proper channels and drive to resolution. * Maintain Composite Build Shop in a neat and organized fashion. * Be comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously. * Be comfortable with working long hours when required to achieve deadlines. What You'll Bring * High School diploma or equivalent. AS degree preferred. * Minimum of 4 years' experience in composites prototyping and repairs. * Effective verbal and written communication skills. * High level of craftsmanship and attention to detail married with the ability to work quickly. * Quality focused with the ability to manage your time across multiple competing tasks and priorities. * Able to lift 30-50 pounds on a daily basis and to maintain a safe working environment. What Else You Need to Know The starting cash range for this role is $32 - $42/ hour. Please note that this is a target, starting cash range for a candidate who meets the minimum qualifications for this role. The final cash pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, working location, and projected impact. The total compensation package for this role may also include: equity compensation; overtime pay; discretionary annual or performance bonuses; sales incentives; benefits such as medical, dental and vision insurance; paid time off; and more.
