Department Name KE Global Futures Finance Job Description The Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory is seeking a Financial Manager Sr to assist with post-award administration and financial oversight of sponsored projects, as well as unit-wide business operation functions. These functions include procurement, budget forecasting, account reconciliation and compliance oversight. Position will serve as a primary financial approver for purchases, travel, and other expenses. Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Essential Duties Essential Duties in the area of post award grants management: * Work with Principal Investigators, Project Directors, and ORSPA representatives to administer unit sponsored projects/awards. * Advise Project Directors on financial management issues, and when appropriate resolves complex problems with project directors, internal offices, and sponsors. * Review and control accounts and records to ensure that account funds are expensed according to proposal funding/budget justification and mirror the research activities as described in the proposal. * Ensure that accounts and records are in compliance with pertinent university and/or outside agency procedures and regulations. * Maintain a shadow tracking system to reconcile internal accounts or records with university system; verify accuracy and completeness and makes necessary adjustments. * Provide accounting-related status reports on regular basis and/or as requested. * Answer financial and administrative questions for research personnel and assist with resolving grant related financial problems. * Coordinate grant administration activities with centralized sponsored projects office as needed. * Independently responds to or initiates correspondence regarding matters pertaining to assigned functions. * May assist with preparation and submission of proposals and annual reports. * Responsible for maintaining files and/or records. * Assist other administrative staff as needed. * Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Duties in the area of budget analysis and reporting: * Prepare and summarize a variety of routine operational and status reports * Assist in the preparation special budgets; assists with preparation of budget projections and analyses of data and/or trends to management for decision making * Monitor fiscal activity against budget and prepares status reports for management of assigned areas/unit(s). * Create routine and special reports using on-line tools and internal databases * Assist in implementation of procedures/policies related to budget functions and reporting * Participate in a variety of inter and intra area meetings to represent work area's interests and perspective regarding issues. * Perform special projects, as assigned.
