Position Summary: Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Ambulatory Quality Safety, the Sr. Ambulatory Data Analyst is responsible for providing analysis and project management support for quality and performance improvement initiatives for Ambulatory Physician services. Collaborate with senior leadership, departments and staff to ensure successful implementation of initiatives supporting the goals of the organization to include advanced analytics, developing and implementing performance improvement strategies, and monitoring key metrics.Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. Operational Performance Analytics: Independently performs a variety of analyses, including qualitative and quantitative analyses using advanced Excel, PowerBI, and SQL queries Performs the full analytic spectrum of tasks: beginning with scoping out analytic requirements from stakeholders and ending with presenting key findings to various stakeholders Facilitates taskforces and committees of multi-disciplinary teams to identify performance opportunities, develops implementation work plans, implements opportunities, tracks initiative progress and related metrics, and manages delays. Efficiently organizes and prioritizes multiple projects with a high level of competence, quality, and customer service Technical: Uses a mix of front-end applications, Excel and SQL databases to extract, clean, and wrangle data. Integrates data from disparate sources while adhering to a high level of data quality. Develops new and maintains departmental Power BI dashboards to track clinical quality, patient satisfaction, and operational metrics Accurately abstracts Quality Measures from medical records for internal and external measure sets. Demonstrates appropriate utilization of resources necessary to obtain valid and reliable data entry. Writes clear and concise documentation on methods and assumptions for non-technical audiences Pro-actively identifies and communicates data quality issues and performs essential validation exercises. Ensures final analyses are validated and checks for accuracy. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree required in a related field. Masters degree strongly preferred. 3 yearsprogressive experience in healthcare quality improvement / analytics / or consulting environment Strong analytic skills including proficiency of Microsoft Excel (SQL highly preferred) Proficient in Data Visualization principles and comfortable using visualization applications (experience with Power BI highly preferred) Experience with the following applications preferred: EPIC, MIDAS Core Competencies: Project Management: Ability to organize, prioritize and lead multiple projects. Client Management: Strong relationship building skills effective communication skills, written and verbal, Team Player: Demonstrates a flexible attitude and ability to respond to a rapidly changing and demanding environment. Self-motivated, and able to juggle multiple priorities. Technical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, including analytical skills for quantitative analysis using Excel and SQL Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements Work EnvironmentMay be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospitals SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospitals Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time with distractions. Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to follow through on assignments without supervision.
