Job Advertisement Starting salary range for this position is $54,354.70 - $66,068.47 per the Professional Management Association (PMA) Working Agreement. Position performs administrative and planning functions for the Planning and Sustainability Department. The work requires examining, analyzing, and evaluating facts and circumstances surrounding applications for land use and development, determining compliance with local land use regulations and state and federal laws, and assisting in the administrative and communications functions of the Department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as an illustration of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to, or extension of, the position. * Reviews land use applications to verify completeness, determines compliance with the Zoning Ordinance and any applicable State and Federal laws and regulations, contacts owners/applicants and informs them of additional information required. * Assists in maintaining the Planning and Sustainability Department website and social media accounts, including preparing application plans and documentation for uploading to the website. * Corresponds with the public; maintains positive and professional public relations; provides information and assistance as needed. * Provides support for land use board meetings and other meetings as required. * Performs administrative duties to support land use boards and other Planning and Sustainability Department staff as directed including preparation of legal notices and abutter notifications. * Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - A bachelor's degree in planning or related field and familiarity with urban planning and land use regulations; or two (2) to three (3) years of relevant experience. Must have a valid driver license and have no offenses which would prohibit or restrict bonding by any carrier or agent providing coverage to the City.
