Job Summary As a Manufacturing Intern, you will be trained in installing aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and composite parts. This internship will provide you with hands-on experience and exposure to the general aviation manufacturing environment. It will aid your learning experiences and enhance your aviation knowledge as a student interested in manufacturing and aviation careers. You will get exposure to a wide variety of real-world work situations and applications. You will play an integral role creating and constructing the world's best-selling general aviation aircraft. This internship is part of the Cirrus JET (Job Education Training) program and will run from September 2024 to January 2025. Application Opens: May 2024 Interviews: Early September 2024 Start: September 2024 End: January 2025 Job Duties: (vary depending on location of internship) * Inspecting and installing aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and composite parts. * Following engineering drawings and specifications to install, connect, or bond aircraft parts using adhesives, rivets, or threaded fasteners. * Ensures fit, clearance, alignment, and functional performance complies with design requirements. * Preparing and using fixtures to aid in locating, bonding, or drilling aircraft parts. * Routing wire harnesses in accordance with specifications. * Work with adhesives, bonding aircraft parts. * Welding and machining metal parts. Qualifications: * Current High School junior or senior * Have completed a minimum of 2 manufacturing and/or aviation-based courses * Mechanically inclined background is preferred, but not required. * Must be able to follow and complete work instructions properly. * Must be able to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment. * Must be able to lift varying weight repeatedly. Additional Requirements: * Students will work 8-10 hours/ week on 2-3 days/ week * Must be able to work in the AM. * Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen & background check. * Must be on track to graduate. * Must be at least 16 years old at the date of hire.
