About the Job Duties and Responsibilities: Dr. Ziad Nahas (Interventional Psychiatry Lab) in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking an outstanding candidate for a therapist to work on a sponsored phase 3 psilocybin clinical research trial. Candidates should be passionate about advancing knowledge in the area of translational research of depressive disorders and other mental health conditions with a focus on novel treatments. This position is ideal for a therapist or clinician seeking to grow their clinical and research career through access to specialized psiclocybin therapy training and direct involvement with research participants. Training - Candidate will be required to participant in sponsor-led, psilocybin-focused integrative therapy training. This training will include asynchronous and synchronous sessions, including supervised management of at least one psilocybin case. Integrative Therapy for research participants - app. 11-14 hours per participant, per dose Responsible for completing therapy sessions per protocol, including pre-dosing sessions at 1 hr, 1 time per week, and during dosing week at 1.5 hours the day before and after dosing, and 1 dosing session at 8 hours. This includes working directly with the participant and documenting the therapy session per the study's application. Qualifications All required qualifications must be included in the application materials Required Qualifications: * Masters level counselor or therapist with active license * Proficiency with Microsoft Office software * Possess excellent communication skills; verbal and written * Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with others in person and virtually * Experience integrating psychedelic medicine in therapy settings clinically or in research * Exposure to electronic database/form development (REDCap or equivalent) * Exposure to research trials, particularly collecting histories or completing assessments Preferred Qualifications: * Previous education in psychedelic-assisted therapy (e.g., psilocybin, ketamine, etc.) About the Department Dr. Ziad Nahas's Lab is located primarily at the Interventional Psychiatry Program's St. Louis Park clinic, with additional study activity at UMN and M Health Fairview sites on the UMN campus. Our work focuses on advancing translational research of mood dysregulation and depressive disorders. Specific interests and areas of expertise include: ● Improving patient care of treatment resistant disorders using neuromodulation techniques. ● Functional neuroimaging (fMRI), electroencephalography (EEG) and brain stimulation modalities: Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS), vagus nerve stimulation (VNS), prefrontal cortical stimulation (PCS), deep brain stimulation (DBS), electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and focal electrically administered seizure therapy (FEAST). ● Increasing equitable access to neuromodulation interventions for patient care.
