Job Title: Quality Control Specialist Post Funding Sr.
Position Location: Raleigh, NC - Hybrid
Your impact:
As a Quality Control Specialist Posting Funding Sr., you will have the opportunity to use your detail orientation and analytical talents to verify that loans are established in accordance with the Credit Union lending guidelines, policies, and regulatory parameters. You will ensure the loan document information, Underwriting policies/guidelines and internal systems align and report any discrepancies and exceptions. Additionally, you will mentor team members and serve as the reporting backup.
As a key contributor to the Coastal team, your responsibilities will be:
Conducting audits:
* Auditing all consumer loans to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations and uncovering system issues that may be occurring in processing
* Verifying underwriting policies/guidelines have been met and report on any discrepancies or exceptions
* Ensuring all loan packages are complete, compliant, and imaged correctly to limit Credit Union losses
Preparing reports:
* Reporting on findings to maximize efficiency in audit reviews
* Maintaining quality assurance and exception reports to support department achievement of goals
* Maintaining audit checklists
* Tracking error resolution to reduce member impact and Coastal losses
* Observing reporting trends and communicating findings so that improvements can be made
Training staff and leading as subject matter expert:
* Training team on reviewing all consumer lending products
* Identifying training needs and providing quality coaching to develop team strengths and improving weaknesses
* Serving as the subject matter expert and point of contact for Consumer Lending and other teams' inquiries
* Maintaining documentation/procedures related to the quality control review
* Recommending changes to process to ensure adequate controls are in place to mitigate risk of errors and oversights
* Identifying opportunities for risk reduction pertaining to regulations, policies, procedures, practices, and internal controls
* Maintaining an expert level knowledge on all consumer lending operations, systems, procedures, workflows, products, and training materials
* Updating and maintaining lending policies and procedures via intranet, procedural manual, training programs, corporate notices, etc.

Experience: Three years of Consumer/Mortgage lending experience
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; two-year related college degree preferred
