The North Dakota Veterans Home (NDVH) is seeking a Human Resources Director to lead hiring efforts, refine hiring and retention practices, and develop a company culture strategy. This position serves as a trusted advisor to department leaders on employee relations, cultural development, compensation, benefits, performance management, policy development and risk management. The ideal candidate is a great multitasker, pays meticulous attention to detail, is trustworthy and action-oriented. Job Responsibilities include: * Maintain HR systems & day-to-day operations processes * Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding * Develop training materials and communication for HR policy, benefits and strategic initiatives * Mediate employee issues and conflicts and brings them to resolution * Ensure the organization's compliance with local, state and federal regulations * Ensure all company HR policies are applied consistently * Promote a positive workplace culture * Maintain company organization charts and employee directory * Processes annual evaluations for merit increases * Conduct salary reviews * Identify ways to innovate current procedures and processes to improve efficiencies and the employee experience * Maintain time clock: set up new employees, assist supervisors with questions, assist when there are problems with the time clock/system * Serve as the Workers Compensation - Risk Management Department's point of contact Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Management Labor Relations, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field * 3+ years of HR experience demonstrating knowledge of HR management, recruitment, and employee relations * Self-motivated, strong problem solver self-directed in learning the various rules and regulations * Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Must demonstrate a high level of personal comfort with change and change management, and the ability to consult and guide managers and employees through change initiatives. * Ability to handle and resolve conflict * Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines If a candidate meeting these qualifications cannot be found NDVH will consider hiring other applicants with lesser skills and/or experience in the role as a Human Resources Business Partner.
