Manufacturing Engineer Application Deadline: 29 December 2024 Department: Vehicle Design / Analysis / Integration Employment Type: Full Time Location: Irvine, California Reporting To: Deepak Grover Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000 / year Description The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes and systems to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and refine manufacturing methods, solve production issues, and drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities * Process Design: Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to optimize production efficiency and product quality. Design and specify manufacturing equipment and tooling. * Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, including cost reduction, waste elimination, and quality enhancement. Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives. * Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to resolve production issues, including equipment malfunctions, process deviations, and quality problems. * Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and changes. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. * Collaboration: Work closely with design engineers, production teams, and suppliers to ensure seamless integration of new products and processes. Facilitate communication and coordination between teams. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. * Experience: 2+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related role, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques. * Technical Skills: Proficiency in manufacturing software and tools (e.g., CAD, ERP systems). Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and equipment management. * Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address production challenges and implement effective solutions. * Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and clearly present technical information. * Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in manufacturing processes and documentation. * Must be able to obtain a Secret and/or a TS/SCI clearance. Preferred Qualifications: * Education: Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. * Experience: 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with experience in aerospace or high-tech industries preferred. * Advanced Skills: Expertise in advanced manufacturing techniques, process optimization, and technology integration. * Certifications: Relevant certifications in manufacturing or quality management (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Manufacturing) are a plus. * Industry Experience: Experience in aerospace or space technology sectors, particularly with complex and high-precision manufacturing environments. * Innovation: Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and systems.
