The Position Staff Associate Engineers perform professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. This position is located within the Constructability Section of the Construction Division in Carson City, Nevada. Incumbent is responsible for the review of plans, specifications, and special provisions for accuracy, completeness, and constructability providing recommendations as needed. Attend project meetings necessary to ensure quality control for highway construction, contract documents. Calculate Liquidated damages, working days, fuel factor, user cost, and assist in the development of Limitations of Operations and Transportation Management Plans (TMP) as requested. Develop Time Determination Schedule (TDS) to determine working days. Document assumptions used in the development of all TDS schedules. Perform project field reviews at various stages of project design and provide engineering recommendations. Women and under-represented groups are encouraged to apply.
