Apply Job Type Full-time Description Salary / Non-Exempt : $77,000 - $80,000 / $37.0192 to $38.4615 (hourly) Full Time: Monday to Friday: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Hybrid - Remote & Office / Field Benefits and Perks: Supportive, fun and friendly team environment! * Clients/Families we serve reside in the South Los Angeles, Compton, Watts and Lynwood area. SHIELDS' mission is to develop, deliver and evaluate culturally sensitive, comprehensive service models that empower and advocate for high-risk families in South Los Angeles. The Senior Staff Accountant provides assistance with conducting daily accounting activities relating to all accounting areas (A/P, A/R, P/R, and GL). This includes assisting with the development and revision of budgets. The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting with the development of procedures to ensure agency's compliance with all standards and regulations for Federal State, County and all private contracts and grants, including; coding expenses, entry into computerized systems, assistance with preparation of reports, and printing checks, prepare monthly billing invoices and fiscal reports to funding agencies, process payroll and assist with related journal entries, assist with account analysis, reports, and preparation of financial statements, work with auditors to complete both annual and program specific audits. * Conduct daily accounting activities relating to all accounting areas (A/P, A/R, P/R, and GL). * Assist with the development and revision of budgets. * Prepare program budget schedules and monitor against actual expenditures on a monthly basis. * Assist with development of procedures to ensure agency's compliance with all standards and regulations for Federal State, County and all private contracts and grants. * Review of A/P- Coding expenses, entry into computerized systems, assistance with preparation of reports, and printing checks. * A/R -Prepare monthly billing invoices and fiscal reports to funding agencies. * G/L -Perform General Ledger maintenance including, bank reconciliations, preparation of monthly shared cost allocation journal entries, monthly prepaid account & fixed asset amortizations, and data input. * PR-Process payroll and assist with related journal entries. * Assist with account analysis, reports, and preparation of financial statements. * Work with auditors to complete both annual and program specific audits. * Prepare annual program cost reports for Controller's review and submits to county once finalized. * Review third party subcontractors monthly billing invoices for accuracy. Request billing corrections and missing documentations from subcontractors. Must be able to change priorities at a moment's notice. Willing to work extended hours if needed. * COVID-19 vaccination required. May request medical or religious exemption if applicable.
