Job Title: Post Doctoral Researcher Department: Medicine | Radiation Oncology Post Doctoral Researcher position for a maximum of 1 year in the Chakravarti lab to pursue specialized research training and experience conducting research focusing on radiation toxicity exhibited by cancer cells and identifying molecular targets to overcome this resistance. Responsibilities Include: * Uses genomic and proteomic profiling of patient tissue samples to identify cluster of genes and proteins associated with minimal survival benefits * Collects clinical data from patients enrolled on clinical trials, develops, adopts and implements new laboratory methods to achieve characterization of the genetic basis of human cancers * Prepares research results for professional publications * Prepares manuscripts * Assists with the design of new grant applications, collection of preliminary data, and organization and writing of grants * Shadows and observes radiation oncology in the field of breast cancer * Participates in lab meetings, focus groups, scientific meetings and conferences * Assists in supervising and training students. Education/Experience: * A Doctoral degree in an appropriate discipline is required. Requires successful completion of a background check * Qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
