Summary: The Assistant AD for Development is responsible for cultivating, soliciting and securing annual gifts that support the mission of VCU Athletics. Reporting to the Senior Associate AD for Development, this position works collaboratively with the Development staff to increase annual gift participation and donations for restricted and unrestricted gifts to benefit VCU Athletics and enhance the student-athlete experience. Typical Duties * Oversee the annual fund for VCU Athletics, including all restricted and unrestricted giving to the Ram Athletic Fund; * Maintain database of active annual fund donors; * Conduct and document 100-125 significant interactions with donors during the academic year; * Plan and develop special projects and major department events to increase annual donor base; * Develop, install and execute annual fundraising strategies to enhance Ram Athletic Fund totals; * Coordinate individual sport fundraising for specified sports * Assist with management and oversight of Ram Athletic Fund Board; * Coordinate social media strategies for Ram Athletic Fund; and * Manage all special events. Qualifications Preferred Qualifications * An advanced degree or training and work experience at a level that equates to an advanced degree; * Three (3) years' experience in fundraising, preferably at the NCAA Division l intercollegiate athletics level; * Working knowledge of Paciolon software; and * Demonstrated knowledge of donor management software. Minimum Qualifications * A bachelor's degree or training and work experience at a level that equates to a bachelor's degree; * Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU; * Minimum of one (1) to (2) years' experience in fundraising required, preferably at the NCAA Division l intercollegiate athletics level; * Strong oral and written communication skills; and * Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising principles.
