ZS's Business Consulting group partners with clients to design and deliver solutions to help them tackle a broad range of business challenges. Our teams work on multiple projects simultaneously, leveraging advanced data analytics and problem-solving techniques. Our recommendations and solutions are based on rigorous research and analysis underpinned by deep expertise and thought leadership. ZS's Portfolio & Business Development practice area focuses on strategic choices in four related areas: Therapeutic Area & Disease Area Strategy; Pipeline & Pipeline Asset Strategy; Business Development, Licensing, and Mergers & Acquisitions; and New Product Launch & Commercialization. We help clients think about "Where to Play" and "How to Win" choices. "Where to Play" choices include prioritizing business units, therapeutic or disease areas, geographic markets, and platforms and technologies for future growth. "How to Win" choices include identifying products for in-licensing or acquisition, conducting due-diligence and developing integrated strategies for future products from early development through launch. Our solutions are based in rigorous research underpinned by deep expertise and thought leadership. STRATEGY INSIGHTS & PLANNING ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT Strategy Insights & Planning Associate Consultants (SIPACs) create and deliver solutions for our project teams and clients. SIPACs leverage their analytic, synthesis and communication skills to derive insights and solve business problems. In particular, SIPACs support management of the project plan and collaborate with their project team to apply problem-solving frameworks to client issues, support clients in change initiatives and employ standard analytic techniques to help guide client decisions. Responsibilities: * Develop understanding of the broader biopharma and MedTech landscape, including technologies, platforms, and assets in development * Leverage problem solving skills and frameworks to develop solutions to client business problems * Assist in structuring and conducting market research and/or desk research to derive insights and contribute to client decision making * Design custom analyses using tools like Excel, Access, Confirmit and ZS's proprietary software * Synthesize and communicate results to clients and ZS teams through oral and written presentations * Assist in developing client relationships and serve as key point of contact on aspects of projects * Actively support management of the program plan and conduct regular status updates with the client - risk and issue mitigation * Assist in driving the project forward to ensure project goals and deadlines are met * Advance problem-solving skills and improve ZS's capabilities * Guide and mentor Associates on teams Qualifications: * MBA and Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record in business, economics, marketing, psychology, physical or life sciences, engineering, applied math, statistics or related fields. Alternately, candidates may possess a PhD in life sciences, health economics, decision sciences or related field with a business application * In lieu of a PhD, 2-5 years of relevant post-collegiate work experience in a management consulting firm or investment bank may be considered; A demonstrated record of academic success is required. * Candidates with a combination of business experience and scientific/technical backgrounds preferred * Previous financial valuation experience a plus (forecasting, financial modeling, due diligence assessment) * High motivation, good work ethic, maturity and personal initiative * Strong oral and written communication skills * Empathy, adaptability and high personal impact * Strong attention to detail, with a quality-focused mindset * Self-discipline for planning and organizing tasks * Aptitude for, and enjoyment of, team leadership Perks & Benefits: ZS offers a comprehensive total rewards package including health and well-being, financial planning, annual leave, personal growth and professional development.
