The Office of Institutional Advancement at High Point University seeks a full-time Digital Communications and Marketing Strategist to enhance High Point University's fundraising and engagement capacity by developing, implementing and executing digital communications and marketing strategies. The candidate will prepare for upcoming campaigns, increase constituent engagement, reinforce college-wide messages, engage audiences in innovative ways, and extend messaging across all digital media. QUALIFICATIONS: Education * Bachelor's degree in media production, Communication, Graphic Design, Journalism or related field required. Experience and Training: * 1-3 years successful communications experience required, in a university or non-profit marking setting preferred. * Email, video production, digital content development and website management experience required. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: * Experience and understanding of content creation and distribution via email campaigns (Salesforce, BBNC); video production (Premiere Rush, Premiere Rush, After Effects, Thankview); social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.); texting (Cadence Mongoose) and website management (WordPress). * Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and/or Canva. * Tracks/analyzes web effectiveness using Google Analytics and other tools. * Ability to build and implement multiple communications and marketing projects. * Drive advertising messaging and search engine optimization (SEO) performance. * Familiarity with project management software (Asana, Airtable). * In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, website management and email marketing. * Familiarity with website content management systems with working knowledge of web design and HTML/CSS. * Balance the craft of writing for higher education with the intersection of strategy and creativity. * Exceptional writing and editing skills. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Create and manage digital marketing and communications calendar for the Office of Institutional Advancement. * Design and edit a wide range of digital marketing materials such as emails, videos, digital ads, website features and social media assets. * Manage day-to-day email marketing activities including but not limited to email sends; template creation; email campaign setup; and scheduling, A/B testing, and deployment of one-off, recurring, triggered and dynamic content-driven campaigns. * Design and execute email campaigns from setup through production, functionality, distribution, and metrics reporting. * Execute paid social media campaigns including creating, placing and tracking ads to acquire and retain donors and increase event attendance. * Develop storyboards, shoot, and edit videos for YouTube, website, and social media channels. * Maintain and create website including redesign, relaunch, and maintenance of website content. * Research, write and edit stories about philanthropic impact and donor features. * Prepare timelines for all major digital marketing and communications initiatives. * Assist with creative social media campaigns (i.e.. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram), including writing content and calendar to increase reach and impact on followers through the implementation of a weekly, monthly, and annual strategy. * Research emerging technologies and lead the implementation of websites, social media and emerging digital engagement pathways (e.g., video, texting, fundraising, etc.). * Serve as a brand ambassador by elevating brand across platforms. * Contribute to creative brainstorming and strategy development for new projects, marketing campaigns and storytelling. * Ensure all Advancement communications adhere to university brand standards. * Participates in various university activities such as Homecoming, Commencement, Convocation, and Family weekends. * Other duties as assigned. ACCOUNTABLITY: * Report on the effectiveness of various digital communications platforms on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis. * Demonstrate ability to develop and implement innovative short and long-range communication and marketing strategies. * Utilize analytics to create reports to optimize and measure success of content strategies. * Passion for the mission and values of High Point University. * Reports to Senior Director of Annual Giving and Communication.
