Position Summary Information Position Summary Slippery Rock University invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Department of Chemistry and Environmental Geosciences beginning August 2025. Teaching responsibilities include the following undergraduate-level courses: * Biochemistry (lecture and laboratory) * General Chemistry (lecture and laboratory) * Science for general education * Additional courses as required. It is expected that the successful candidate will bring a passion for teaching diverse populations of students, establish a research program involving undergraduates, actively participate in student advising, and serve on committees at the department, college, and university-levels. The successful candidate will also be required to hold a minimum of five student consultation hours on at least three different days. The courses in the Chemistry program are taught on Slippery Rock University's main campus. Minimum Qualifications A Ph.D. or A.B.D. in chemistry/biochemistry or closely related field, such as medicinal chemistry or biophysics. The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills. A successful on-campus interview, including teaching and research presentations, is required. A commitment to the education of diverse populations is also required. Preferred Qualifications Experience in biophysics, medicinal chemistry, or computational chemistry.
