Position Summary This primary role is responsible for troubleshooting, conducting tests, and maintaining avionics equipment throughout any Boeing KC-135 or equivalent commercial aircraft. You will be asked to assist in all facets of maintenance, daily inspections, and documentation with the approved Metrea Strategic Mobility (MSM) Aircraft Maintenance Plan, Boeing KC-135, equivalent heavy commercial aircraft or fighter aircraft. Essential Functions Statements * Perform testing and troubleshooting of electronic components and assemblies using prescribed circuit testers, lead kits, and multimeters. * Perform repair and overhaul in compliance with manufacturer overhaul manuals and tech data. * Comply with FAA avionics maintenance standards. * Perform data entry in the automated daily productivity system or Maintenance Information System (MIS). * Access and update the inventory management system to place part orders when replacing parts of an avionics unit, making sure that the correct part number is installed, and all parts are accounted for. * Participate actively in productivity and quality improvement programs within the aircraft maintenance complex. * Completes all administratively required forms and documents on schedule. * All other duties assigned. Competency Statements * Must always be conscious of safety in any procedure. * High competence in troubleshooting and repairing electronic systems. * Understand and apply technical data, manufacturer's repair manuals, and FAA bulletins. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as the work requires Teamwork to succeed. Supervisory Responsibility This role has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job operates within flight line maintenance parameters. This role routinely carried outdoors and uses standard equipment such as electronic and pneumatic test equipment, hand tools, ground power units for aircraft, integrated maintenance information systems, lifts, metal cutters, power drills, rivet tools, portable computing devices, and protective headsets/ear plugs. Physical Demands This is a largely physical role; however, some physical abilities may be required. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position with daily working hours varying from Monday through Sunday. Hours and work shifts may vary in accordance with business needs. Non-exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager. There is significant travel required to successfully carry out assigned maintenance tasks and air operations. Facility Location: Metrea Strategic Mobility 17301 Heacock Street, Moreno Valley, CA 92551 Travel * Travel requirements are: Up to 50% away from home. * Must have the availability to travel 30,60,90 days at a time in support of business requirements. * Must be able to obtain e-visas to complete assigned business travel. * During deployment, employees will be provided company-paid lodging, transportation, and local rate per diem. Must be able to work with little supervision in austere or minimally equipped environments. Required Education, Experience, and Certificates Education: High School Diploma or GED. Experience: 3 years in KC135 experience in aircraft avionics. Computer Skills: Basic skills in Microsoft Office Suite Programs. Certificates: Must have an A&P certificate. Preferred Education, Experience, and Certificates FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate Vocational post-secondary course in electronics, computer technology, avionics, or related sciences. Experience: 3-5 years KC-135 Avionics Systems or equivalent heavy commercial aircraft. Fighter aircraft experience is welcomed. Certification: Must have A&P certification Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must be able to accomplish all duties with little or no assistance. Must have good command of the English language; oral and written. Work Authorization/Security Clearance Employee must be a US citizen. Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain within 1 year of employment start date is preferred, but not required.
